Our craft
honest wood,
quiet joinery.
We make furniture for the first eight years of a life — the part where everything gets climbed, spilled on and moved three times a year. It has to be light enough for a child and strong enough for the rest of us.

four materials, chosen once.
- European oak
- Dense, pale and forgiving. Used for frames, legs and anywhere small hands hold on.
- Solid ash
- Springy and light, chosen for slats, rails and the parts that flex before they break.
- Low-VOC finish
- Water-based, food-safe once cured, and mild enough for a room someone sleeps in.
- Steel fixings
- Replaceable hardware instead of glue joints, so a piece can be taken apart and rebuilt.

How a piece is made
- 01
drawn to scale
Every piece is drawn around a child's reach, not a shrunken adult proportion.
- 02
made in batches
Small runs in one workshop, so a maker sees a piece from board to finish.
- 03
tested hard
Load, tip and finish testing to Australian children's furniture standards.
- 04
built to return
Parts, spares and repairs stay available long after the piece leaves us.

made to be handed on.
Nothing here is meant to be thrown out at age nine. Send us a photo of a wobble, a scratch or a missing part and we will get you the fix, the spare or the replacement.
